Langtang Gosaikunda Trek Overview

Embark on an exhilarating journey starting with an overland adventure to Dhunche, a charming hill town serving as our gateway to the Langtang and Gosainkunda Trek. Traverse through four days of enchanting alpine valleys, culminating in Kyangjin where we pause for high-altitude exploration amidst majestic mountains and glaciers. Returning on our path for three days, we then venture to the sacred Gosainkunda Lakes, revered by Hindus and Buddhists alike. Crossing the lofty Laurebina Pass (4600m), we descend into the lush Helambu region, immersing ourselves in diverse cultural experiences amid towering peaks.

The Langtang Valley, dubbed ‘the valley of glaciers’, captivates with its towering peaks veiled in clouds, pine forests, glistening streams, and verdant meadows adorned with wildflowers. Discover serene Buddhist monasteries, witness traditional cheese-making, encounter yaks, and behold pristine mountain lakes that evoke profound awe for nature’s beauty. Vibrant Sherpa villages bustle with life, offering intimate glimpses into local mountain life and culture.

Trekking along rugged trails unveils dramatic vistas: to the west stand Himal Chuli (7893m), Manaslu (8156m), and Ganesh Himal (7406m), with the Annapurna range visible on clear days. Northward, Langtang Lirung rises majestically across the valley. Ascending to Laurebina Pass, we are greeted by sweeping panoramas before descending to the sacred lakes. Legend has it that Gosainkunda was created by Lord Shiva, adding mythical allure to these pristine waters.

Concluding our trek, we return with a scenic drive to Kathmandu, reflecting on an unforgettable journey through these less-traveled yet breathtaking landscapes. It’s a time to cherish the solitude and serenity of ‘you, me, and the mountains’ in the heart of wilderness.
