Our History

Volunteer Society Nepal (VSN) was founded in 2004 by a dedicated team of development workers, social activists, and ex-volunteers. From the very beginning, VSN has been empowering international and local volunteers to make a real difference in marginalized communities through hands-on experience and relevant training. Focused on sustainable development, VSN is committed to strengthening the managerial and organizational capacities of local institutions, communities, and individuals, ensuring long-term, self-sustaining improvements in construction, health, environment, and education across economically disadvantaged areas of Nepal. Growing stronger every day, VSN has welcomed volunteers from over 30 countries. During their time in Nepal, volunteers often explore the country's exciting activities, from touring and trekking to mountain flights, jungle safaris, rafting, Tibet and Bhutan tours, bungee jumping, and kayaking. Recognizing the challenges volunteers faced in finding reliable tour companies, we established Real Travel Nepal Pvt. Ltd. in 2006 to offer superior services. Real Travel Nepal offers an extensive array of adventures, including hiking, trekking, peak climbing, mountaineering, kayaking, and rafting, alongside volunteering opportunities in teaching, health programs, and women's empowerment. Nepal’s stunning landscapes and vibrant culture enhance every experience. Whether you're scaling the highest peaks, riding elephants through the jungle, navigating wild rivers, or volunteering in schools and childcare centers, the warmth and generosity of the Nepali people make every moment truly special. As a charitable tour and travel company, Real Travel Nepal dedicates a significant portion of its profits to funding various charitable projects. Over the years, we've provided food, clothing, and educational sponsorship to over 50 orphaned children. Our women's development project in Kathmandu offers daily literacy and language classes along with skill training to 30 women. We've proudly established a disabled center that accommodates 25 children, providing special education, physiotherapy, and speech therapy. Additionally, we operate health centers and partner with several hospitals across Nepal. We encourage our tour and trekking guests to immerse themselves in the authentic Nepali experience by visiting our projects and connecting with the local communities their contributions support. This unique opportunity allows travelers to witness firsthand the positive impact of their involvement, fostering a deeper connection with Nepal and its people.
